From 15 to 21 July, the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) will make its debut at the Hong Kong Book Fair with an immersive and fun-filled anti-scam themed booth! On 18 and 19 July (Saturday and Sunday), the SFC will also be inviting three super popular local illustrators who participated in the 'Water Fish' comic creation to host a signing session on-site — including Man Sir, Charlotte Lui and Johnee Lau. They will interact with readers and fans up-close, and share anti-scam information with a touch of humour.

In addition, readers who participate in on-site activities and complete the tasks will be able to bring home an exclusive giveaway! There will also be multiple interactive zones and photo spots with the 'Water Fish' theme, including a 'Scam Stories Zone', an anti-scam video game, a wishing well, a broadcasting booth and a retro newspaper stand, combining education, photo opportunities and entertainment.

Star-studded Signing Session and Limited Edition 'Water Fish' Comic Coaster

The popular illustrators' signing session will be held on 18 and 19 July! The SFC has specially invited three Hong Kong illustrators who participated in the 'Water Fish' comic creation to the Hong Kong Book Fair. They include Man Sir, former editor of Hong Kong comics, contributor to 'Teddy Boy' and current world champion model maker; Charlotte Lui, who records the cityscape and human stories of Hong Kong through her popular 'Moving Drawing' series; and Johnee Lau, creator of the original animation 'GALAMAN', who depicts life's funny moments with a humorous perspective and is beloved by readers. The three creators will interact with the public and share anti-scam knowledge through the signing event.

The SFC will distribute a special issue of the anti-scam comic 'Investment Alert', featuring the latest investment scams and illustrated by the three popular artists. The SFC has also prepared a two-in-one bookmark and coaster with the 'Water Fish' theme, which is both practical and collectible. Visitors only need to complete a simple task at the SFC booth to take them home for free! Limited quantities, don't miss out if you're a fan!

Through exhibitions and games, visitors can learn to recognise investment pitfalls! Visitors can also challenge themselves at the anti-scam video game and test their ability to identify investment scams, levelling up their awareness and risk consciousness!

Think you're savvy enough? Come and try the anti-scam video game! The game simulates different investment scam scenarios to test if players can spot the scams in time. Through this light-hearted and interactive experience, players can learn how to heighten their vigilance, verify information and avoid falling into investment traps, levelling up their scam prevention skills instantly.

Scam Stories Zone

Through a series of investment scam clippings and cautionary news stories based on real cases, visitors can learn about common scam tactics such as 'Online Romance Investment Scams', 'Impersonating Celebrities', 'Investment Classroom Chat Groups' and 'False Claims of Official Endorsement for Secondary Scams'. Learn practical anti-scam tips while reading these stories.

The SFC has created three creative scenes with the 'Water Fish' theme! On-site, there will be a 'Don't be a Water Fish' wishing well, a broadcasting booth and a retro newspaper stand for unique photo opportunities. The most eye-catching spot is the 'Don't be a Water Fish' wishing well, which reminds visitors through the 'Water Fish's' tearful and quirky look that there is no 'risk-free' wishing well in the world, only scammers who are always on the lookout for their next target. Instead of blindly chasing quick profits, it's better to arm yourself with anti-scam knowledge and 'Don't be a Water Fish' in real life! At the must-visit broadcasting booth, the 'Water Fish' transforms into a professional financial news anchor, reporting anti-scam information to the public!
